I think it is meant less as 'These little slips of darkness trapped in amber are the Dark Powers' and more 'These are pieces of the Dark Powers, either current or former.' I believe this is indicated in the text (can't remember where), but it is also indicated by the name:Ī mark, trace, or visible evidence of something that is no longer present or in existenceĪ surviving evidence or remainder of some condition, practice, etc.Ī very slight trace or amount of something
The Vesiges are not the Powers themselves, but fragments or pieces of them.
