The year was 1919 - WW1 had recently ended - and gathered together in Paris were the leaders of the world. Over the next two weeks we're going to revisit two programs that look at the 20 th and the 21 st centuries through the prism of one event - Paris Peace Conference. So why was the 20th century so turbulent and why does that turbulence still influence us today? Ethnic violence erupted across the globe as never before and the international community was drawn into conflicts in the Middle East, Europe and the Balkans, to name but a few.
